Early treatment is somehow the best way to prevent any serious complications. Waiting can hurt your chances of recovery. Fortunately, for carpel tunnel syndrome as well as other conditions, there are ways that you can treat the pain.

Here are 4 ways that you can ease the pain:

* Ice Wrap – Ice is always the first the thing to think of for any injury, especially for something like carpel tunnel syndrome which works very well because it will prevent swelling and treat the pain as well as the muscle spasms. Ice works by numbing the area where it is applied to. Using a wrap is a good idea because stabilizes the injured area. Sometimes putting ice on directly will cause frost bite so be sure there is a thin fabric between you and the ice. Some people will alternate between ice and heat which will also work well.

* Heat Wrap – Heat therapy should be used for chronic issues such as muscle discomfort and stiffness. Heat opens up the blood vessels allowing blood to flow freely to the affected area. This increases circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients and removing waste from sore, tired or injured muscles. Heat should be used before activities, not after. Do not use heat therapy after an acute injury, on areas with poor circulation, decreased sensation or areas with bruising or swelling. It will make the problem worse. Using a wrap is a good idea because stabilizes the injured area.

Both Ice and heat therapies should be alternated 20 minutes on with a 20 minute break. Repeat this process 3 – 4 times daily until stiffness and soreness subsides.

* Compression Wrap – Sometimes additional support alone may be the answer this is known as compression therapy. There are many different types of compression wraps. You can find it in a simple bandage or you can find them made for specific parts of the body like your ARM, LEG or BACK. Some come with the extra support of a brace and Velcro straps. When using a compression wrap this allows you to apply pressure to the injured area of ​​the body which will help stabilize the muscle or joint and reduce swelling, soreness and promote a faster recovery.

* Yoga- We all know exercise is good for us but Yoga exercises and stretches can help reduce the pain of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). It has shown to improve their condition. Yoga focuses on opening, stretching, and strengthening the joints of the body. A yoga regimen including these types of poses, and avoiding those which place too much pressure on the wrists, yoga may offer relief to CTS sufferers.
